Tenerife Weather For those who are not familiar with Tenerife, it has one of the most pleasant climates you can find. It is known as the island of the eternal spring and it is one of the sunniest places on the planet. Making Tenerife an ideal place to have a holiday, whether a winter break away from the cold, rain and snow of a miserable northern European winter or an almost guaranteed summer sun holiday without the oppressive heat that can be found in the Mediterranean. Tenerife is on the same latitude as Florida but unlike Florida it does not have the Hurricanes or an 8 hour flight from the UK. Tenerife is an island of climate contrasts. This is caused by Mount Teide - at 12,000 foot it is Spain's highest mountain, and it has a considerable affect on the weather on different parts of the island. In the north Teide brings plenty of moist air and so the landscape is very green and verdant. In the south (where our apartment is located) Teide brings dry air and plenty of sunshine, with very little rain and so the landscape tends to be semi arid. Around Teide, in the Centre of the island, the landscape of the Island is lunar with snow in the winter! With 12000ft of mountain what do you expect. In the south - the winter average daytime temperature rarely drops below 18 degrees Celsius (66 Fahrenheit). In the Summer - the daytime average is around 24 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit). Nice and warm without being uncomfortably hot. Click here for today's weather and the forecast for the next 5 days from the BBC Average Temperatures The current real time temperature for Golf Del Sur
